    schrotti12 hat kostenlosen Webspace.

    Also für den Web- und FTP-Server würde ich auf jeden Fall Debian nehmen.
    Dafür sind die beiden Programme apache2 und vsftpd bestens geeignet.
    Mailserver dürfte auch kein Problem unter Debian darstellen.

    Wie man einen Shoutcast-Server einrichtet, weiß ich nicht, aber ich denke mal,
    dass es da auch vorgefertigte Pakete für Apt gibt...

    Alles in allem hat man mit einer Debian-Etch-Installation einen stabilen und schnellen
    Server, der diese Dienste sauber unter einen Hut bringt.

    Des weiteren würde sich Debian auch für Xen eignen.

    Soll heißen: Dann hast du für jeden Server eine eigene virtuelle Maschine und könntest
    jeden Service unter einem anderen Betriebssystem laufen lassen.

    Also als Grundsystem würde Debian laufen, der FTP-Server unter Suse,
    der Mail-Server unter Fedora und der Shoutcast-Server unter Windows.
    Jedes System würde dann in einer virtuellen Maschine laufen.

  3. Debian ist das typische Linux-Server System.
    http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0_r2/i386/iso-cd/debian-40r2-i386-netinst.iso (Rechner muss während der Installation am Inet hängen)

    Bevor du dich aber damit 24/7 ans Netz wagst, solltest du dein System erst einmal gut kennenlernen, um z.B. Logfiles richtig deuten zu können.

    da du dir einen Server bauen willst solltest du dir mal FreeNas anschauen.

    Das ganze basiert auf FreeBSD und bietet dir ein Webinterface zum bequemen konfigurieren aller Einstellungen.
    Es ist äußerst kompakt, braucht wenig Speicher und ist sauschnell.


    Ob sich hier aber auch ein TS server und/oder ein Shoutcast Server einrichten läßt wage ich zu bezweifeln. Für reine Datendienste wie FTP, HTML und NFS bestens geeignet. Welchen Hardwareuntersatz hast du denn zur Verfügung?

    Wenn das mal kein Verstoß gegen die GPL ist!
    Ich rate dir dringend davon ab, dieses Angebot anzunehmen, da es schon sehr dubios ist, wenn du nicht einmal ein freies - wenn auch modifiziertes System reverse engineeren oder decompilieren darfst.

    Gnu/Linux steht unter der GPL 2, welche besagt, dass bei der Verwendung von GPL-Code der neu dazugekommen Code ebenfalls OpenSource sein muss!

    Kann ich da jetzt auch Knopix instalieren und die Server porgramme, wie apache... nach dem aufsetzen instalieren?


    oder geht das instalieren von apache.. auf knpix nicjht einmal?


    Kannst du natürlich auch machen, ist aber nicht gerade empfehlenswert.
    Debian wäre für einen Server halt einfach besser geeignet.

    Allerdings kann man bei Knoppix sehr einfach Server in Betrieb setzen. Die Software dazu kannst du bereits im Hauptmenü starten.
