    HI,

    Everyone lives in Hamburg, Germany noticed the massive billboard of MINI cars, because the Company is running a very big ad compaign in this city under the slogan "A good Mini takes you to heaven. A bad Mini takes you everywhere," and for that reason the firm has developed a new way of advertising, MINI has put up a massive billboard, complete with an S&M whip dangling over the rear of a Cooper, then he put out a secret five-digit number and code word. Anyone on the street can text the phrase to the number, and the Cooper gets disciplined via the automated whip. and even it make a whip-like sounds.

    Well... iguess the advertising has a new dimension, not just a simple image in a billboard on the street, but now it can be interactive. too

    And i guess this is a very and brilliant idea from MINI, and very soon too many others companies will show us a new similar ideas.

  3. I'm driving MINI :-)
    In the marketing branche MINI is the best example for really good marketing. If you'll ask a young guy, who ist studying marketing, he will answer, he wants to be such famous like the MINI marketing guys...

    If you see the whole marketing story of MINI, it began in 2001 (where the "new MINI" started). They raised up the number of car built per anno about 500% in 4 years...
    The Mini is an old car cult object - but it was pushed again through the new movies they have made with him....or was the car first and they built a movie around it?
    Think about "Bourne Identity" or "Italian Job" for example.
    The other campaigns of MINI marketing were for example:
    - built a MINI-Hotel: In Venedig (I think) stood 10 MINI Cooper on the Markus Plaza, which had a bed and a small bath in it. Tourists could sleep there for a night.
    - built special-models from MINI cars: Last car is a Picknic MINI Cooper - stood in Milano...

    And at least: MINI went 50 years old last year....they made a big MINI meeting in Silverstone (on formula one circuit - its next to MINI Production in Oxford)....thousands of MINI driver gone there with their MINI...even a group from Russia, which took 35 hours to get there...and me, went with hundrets of other driver over the channel to dover *g*
    But not enough - MINI do a local meeting too. Last time it was in Hildesheim and BossHoss were playing....

    So MINI does everything, that you keep MINI in mind ;-)

    The interactive advertising is only a small new step *g*

    I guess like you said. MINI has the best Marketing compaign in car market, very brilliant ideas, and like you said it makes MINI in your mind. and MINI has starts to be famous in the world i guess by the movies such "Italian Job" and "bourn identity" and some other films. like Audi did with "The transporter", But MINI still the leader in the marketing, and it's a very good exampl in such things.

    Well...the anteractive billboard in hamburg is an other new and very excellent idea from this company, and i guess everyone now want to pick his phone and try those numbers and watch the S&M whip dangling over the rear of a Cooper. :biggrin:
