   Each programming language has its use.
   
   I learned different programming languages, but i like C#, VB and JavaScript most.
   
   To be efficient it is a good thing to know more than a few languages!

   I just started with PureBasic and as far as I can say right now - I like it a lot - easy to learn, a very good community, and the compiled applications are very small!

   I prefer Java because it's easy and you can use it on Windows, Mac and Linux.

   I like C# because of Visual Studio.
   I have tried Java, but I haven't found an as good as editor like Visual Studio

   There's still the classic Vim or the new classic Neovim editors for those who want a real text editor.

   There's still the classic Vim or the new classic Neovim editors for those who want a real text editor.

   
   But to be honest, either of those (and the other “real“ editor, emacs) require weeks of pracice and a lot of knowledge before you can use them like an IDE. neovim and emacs have the advantage here, since they can spawn a full login shells in their instances.

   I love to program in Java. I think Swift 2 is very nice as well.

   I think, Java is the best programming language, because you can use it on Windows, Linux and Mac. But if I want to create a small programm for me I use Visual Basic too, because it's faster and a bit easier.

    You are thinking wrong. There are plenty of (better) programming languages that work on multiple plattforms. Besides, there are plenty of other programming languages that run on the JVM besides Java.
    
    Plattform independence is not a big challenge any more.
