Diese Info habe ich von der SUSE Webseite:
SUSE bietet die M?glichkeit, SUSE LINUX kostenlos direkt von ftp-Server zu installieren. Die ftp-Versionen haben nahezu den gleichen Funktionsumfang, wie die "regul?re" Version, es fehlen aus lizenzrechtlichen Gr?nden lediglich einige wenige Programmpakete. Ebenfalls nicht enthalten ist der Installationssupport.
Selbst habe ich es leider nicht, kann es Dir somit auch nicht schicken, aber vielleicht findet sich ja noch jemand !

Das k?nnte stimmen mit dem kostenlos! Suse Linux 8.2SE wurde auch schon mal von der PCWelt letztes Jahr Anfang Herbst auf ner CD rausgebracht! Das mit dem Brennen... wiegesagt: 1 Kopie als eigenes Backup ist erlaubt!

Als CD war Suse Linux 9.0 SpecialEdition in der ComputerBild 4/2004.
Das Heft kannst in jedem Zeitungsshop nachbestellen und kommt Dir somit nur 2.20 Euro.

da gibt's verdammt viele Distributionen zum Downbload...suse ist auch kostenlos...wenn ich's dir aber kopieren w?rde, w?re das nicht legal. Also lad's dir runter, oder kauf es dir.

Du kannst dir JEDE Distribution kostenlos und legal aus dem Internet herunterladen - allerdings hast du dann kein Anrecht auf Support seitens der Distributoren (sei es SuSE, Mandrake, Red Hat oder sonstwer). Das f?llt heutzutage aber eher weniger ins Gewicht, schlie?lich gibt es eine gro?e und hilfsbereite Linux-Gemeinde ^^

Gluabst dud as jem,and jetzt f?r dich auch noch das downloaded und brennt und Geld ausgibt um es dir zu schicken. Ich glaube das das keiner Macht.

Wer Linux "verkauft" macht sich wenn ich mich recht erinnere sogar strafbar.
Aber die Kosten f?r Werbung, Wen und CD darf man berechnen.
Nur kein Gewinn mit machen.
Linux ist nach Linus Torwald KOSTENFREI.
Programme f?r Linux aber d?rfen auch Geld kosten und m?ssen nicht OpenSource sein
(wobe OpenSource auch nicht hei?en mu?, dass es kostenfrei ist).
SuSe, Knoppix, etc. sind aber allgemein Kostenfrei = downloadbar.
.. nur mit Modem... ui ui ui .. teuer...
Wenn jemand von uns bei Dir in der N?he wohnt...
MOMENT... kennst Du keinen mit DSL und Flatrate und Brenner ?
wie schon angesprochen: in Heften (nachbestellbar oder am Kiosk) sind h?ufig SuSe-CD drinnen. -
Die SE Version aus der PC-Welt kann ich dir nicht emfehlen, da ist fast nichts dabei.

Wir haben hier genug Bandbreite um alles zu saugen was das Herz begehrt. Meld' dich mal per PN bei mir, sollte kein Problem sein dir das Ding zum Rohlingspreis zukommen zu lassen :)
Allerdings empfehle ich dir eher Mandrake Linux, is auch bequemer zu brennen weil's dat als ISO gibt. Ich bin mit meinem Mandrake 10 sehr zufrieden

After publishing a guide to make a bootable SuSE-8.2-ftp-DVD using Linux OS, it is finally time to make one for Windows. Here it is, all you need to create a bootable SuSE 9.0 ftp-version DVD. Have fun!
Intro:
----------
Unfortunately, SuSE does not offer ISO-images of their Linux-distribution for download and they also claim, that it is not possible to make ISO-images of their ftp-version. This is not quite true as you can make a bootable DVD+R or DVD-R with all the contents of the ftp-version. This enables you to install the free version of SuSE Linux offline on any computer without the need for an internet connection. Please note, that only the ftp-version is completely licensed under GPL und SuSE YaST. You can do almost anything with this version as long as you make it available free of charge to others.
System requirements:
--------------------------
- Windows filesystem capable of storing files larger than 4 GB (NTFS!)
- fast connection to the Internet
- 10 GB free space on one of your drives
Software you need:
------------------------
- a good FTP-client to mirror the SuSE FTP-version to your local harddisk
- mkisofs for Windows: this is used to make the ISO-Image. It is part of the cdrecord for Windows package. Grab it from here:

- md5gui for windows: this is the Windows GUI to check all md5sums of the downloaded files. Grab it from here:

Phase 1: Mirror a complete SuSE 9.0 FTP tree
------------------------------------------------------
Visit the SuSE Mirror page to get the ftp-adress of a mirror close to you:

Start your favourite FTP-client and log into one of the mirrors. Change into the directory, where SuSE 9.0 for i386 is stored (usually: /suse/i386/9.0/) and verify that the directory is not empty. Tell your client to download the whole the complete 9.0-directory WITHOUT the subdirectory /suse/src, which is where the sources are stored!
If you get an error downloading a file called "packages.sk" with your ftp-client, try downloading it using your browser.
Phase 2: Verify MD5sums of your downloaded files
--------------------------------------------------------------
Start the md5gui-tool to verify the md5sums. Open the Windows-Explorer and locate the first file called "md5sums" (without any extension) in the root folder of your download. Click and drag it onto the MD5GUI-Window to have the tool verify your files. Repeat this for all md5sums-files in all subdirectories of your download. If any file other than the md5sums-file in the root folder of your download fails, then download those files again. SuSE should have excluded the md5sums-file in the root folder.
Phase 3: Build the ISO using mkisofs
-----------------------------------------------
To build the ISO-Image, extract all files of the cdrecord-zip-file to a directory (F:\Suse9\ for example). Place the downloaded tree of SuSE 9 in the following directory: F:\Suse9\suseftp\ and create the following directory to hold the iso: F:\Suse9\suseiso\

Make sure that the drive used to store the ISO is NTFS-formatted or supports files larger than 4 GB. If not you will get an error with mkisofs at around 99% done later (no free disk space, cannot write!).

In order to pass on all options to mkisofs, create a text file of the following and save it as mksuse9.bat in the same directory as mkisofs.exe. Make sure, everything is in one single line!:

mkisofs -v -V SU900FTP.001 -r -J -l -L -P "SuSE Linux AG" -b "boot/loader/isolinux.bin" -c "boot/loader/boot.cat" -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -graft-points -o F:\suse9\suseiso\SuSE-9.0-ftp.iso F:\suse9\suseftp\

Please do not change the following options:
-v starts mkisofs in verbose mode to give you more details on the process
-V sets the Volume-ID of the ISO to SU900FTP.001
-P sets the Publisher to SuSE Linux AG
-b sets the file to boot from to boot/loader/isolinux.bin
-c creates a boot catalog in boot/loader/boot.cat
-no-emul-boot sets boot mode to no-emulation
You should change the last two options according to your needs:
-o sets the output-file, use full path (here: F:\suse9\suseiso\SuSE-9.0-ftp.iso is used
F:\suse9\suseftp\ this is where the downloaded tree of Suse 9.0 can be found, use full path!
Open a command window in the directory that holds mksuse9.bat and mkisofs.exe and type "mksuse9" + Enter to run the batchfile.
Phase 4: Burn the ISO
----------------------------
Testburn the Iso with your favourite burning programm, for example Nero, on a rewriteable media (DVD+RW or DVD-RW). Try a testinstall and then burn the final ISO on a DVD+R or DVD-R!

also ?inux is im grunde kostenfrei weil es ein gnu projekt ist....jedoch sind in der professional version (die du ja ansprichst ) viele andere progr?mmchen mit dabei die lizenzrechtlich gesch?tzt sind ddaher kostet linux 9.1 prof. auch 59 oder 79? kein plan jdnfalls nehme ich stark an dass du dir dis nich kopieren darfst

Ist ganz interessant und aufschlussreich, die Diskussion.
Vorallem weil es sich um eine offizielle Stellungnahme handelt die direkt von SuSE kommt und nicht einfach irgendwo herausgelesen wird. -
Also ich meine in der ct gelesen zu haben, dass mittlerweile Yast auch unter der GNU General Public License laeuft.

ich hab mir von meinem suse linux professionell 9.1 das komplette paket als sicherheitskopie gebrannt (inklusive cd4)!!! -
