Also kurz gesagt: die Leute der Flat Earth Society glauben, dass die Erde eine Scheibe ist. Soweit sogut. Das erscheint uns nat?rlich als vollkommener Unsinn, aber eine kurze Suche mit Google zeigt, dass sie im Netz recht pr?sent sind;

Jetzt stellt sich nat?rlich die Frage - sind die Leute einfach nur abgedreht und glauben tats?chlich daran oder ist das einfach nur eine Verarschung und eine sehr gut gemachte Satire? Denn zumindestens ihr origin?rer Gr?nder schien ziemlich fest an sein Programm zu glauben - hier ein Zitat von Wikipedia:
A renewed belief in a flat Earth was popularized in the 19th century by the Englishman Samuel Birley Rowbotham, who, after his 1849 publication of a 16-page-pamphlet, Zetetic Astronomy: A Description of Several Experiments which Prove that the Surface of the Sea Is a Perfect Plane and that the Earth Is Not a Globe!, spent the next 35 years publishing and lecturing about his beliefs. He supported his statements both with observational claims and scriptural references.

Die FAQ sind riesenlustig, hier mal ein paar Ausz?ge:

So? The equator of the spherical earthers is an imaginary line as well. Does this mean that their model does not have a northern and a southern hemisphere? You cannot count in imaginary numbers, but does that mean that they do not exist?
5. Does the "middle corner" prove that 5=6?
Yes.
11. Does this fit in with the Hollow Earth theory?
Yes. Beneath the Earth, or hanging off the edges, is a land populated by either green-skinned women or Nazis. All those claiming to have seen this have misinterpreted it to fit in with the spurious and false Spherical Earth theory.
20. Does Idaho exist
No. The existence of Idaho is a lie, fabricated by a conspiracy of cartographers, as is England (see question 10).
21. What about North Dakota?
That doesn't exist either.
22. Any other places which are believed to exist but really don't?
Yes, Australia. And then there are the cryptogeographica, places such as Kadath, Carcosa, Hobbiton, Narnia, Hy-Brasil, Hell and such whose existence has not been satisfactorily proven.
Schade, dass auf der einen Seite "Fighting the Evidence" nicht funktioniert.

A prospros Idaho: die Existenz dieses Staates wird von der FES (oder ihenen nahestehenden Gruppierungen) verleugnet;

Nat?rlich vollkommener Quatsch, allerdings f?llt es manchmal schwer ihre Thesen einfach so zu widerlegen... Was w?re wenn sie Recht h?tten? Insgesamt eine Gruppierung die anscheinend eine ganze Menge Zeit und Gedanken in die ganze Sache investiert. Interessant was das Internet so alles m?glich macht...
EDIT: Es gibt anscheinend auch Beweise dass Belgien nicht existiert... Googelt mal nach 'Idaho doesn't exist'. Heh.
